ramblings of an overworked mommy

This is what I should be doing.

Obviously, this is what I AM doing.

It has been a very busy week. There are many reasons. I am not complaining. I am just trying to relax and let it out. But I am a little frustrated. Being busy makes me cranky. I always try to fit in a little personal time during the week. This week I had a hard time doing that. So this is my personal time. Time to do some thing that I enjoy, something that I have not had much time to do. Here is just a little bit of my week.

  • I work 5 days in this pay period (sat- fri). It has been a long time since I have done that. Result... no personal time, a trashed out house, and one CRANKY and TIRED Mom.

  • No hubby to help. I would love to have him home more. But he works sooo hard. He leaves each morning at 7:30ish and comes home around 6. He leaves again at 7:30pm and does not come home until midnight. On his night off I work. He offers to help when he is here, but I can't let him. He needs the break.

  • District manager and the guy who monitors compliance were in town. I have an issue with the compliance guy. His job it to look at the day-to-day ops of our store and complain that we did not get up to 90% on this, or that. Seriously, get a life. Have you ever worked a real store?

  • J (he WAS trying to be helpful) took his shoes upstairs to his bedroom, while leaving a large trail of sand on the stairs. I get to vacuum the stairs.

  • Pack meeting tonight.

  • I won an auction on eBay. Normally this would be good. Only I thought that I would be outbid and so when I came across the same item at Walmart I bought it. It is for Eric's birthday and so I needed to be prepared. Oh well. I will return the Walmart one.

  • I received a recognition today at work for 10 years of faithful service. It will be 11 years in November, but better late then never. But still, a pretty cool thing to get. How many people can say that they have been in a job for 11 years. Never mind that those 11 years equal 1/3 of my life.

  • New schedule for me and the kids. Leave work @ 3. Young kids meet me there at work, go pick up the Brown kids (thank goodness for the mini-van), drop off Young's, get Katie, drop off Browns, park a mile from the school, walk to get J with Kate in tow, go home, give snacks, return the million phone calls that I got during the day, start dinner, go get Eric, come home, finish dinner, homework, eat dinner, baths, books, tv, milk, prayer, BED!

Okay, enough rambling. Thank you for listening. I am OFF tomorrow, but I have to get a cavity filled. What a bummer. I am excited for the weekend. The kids and I are going to decorate for Halloween. I love the fall! I will share pictures. Then Saturday night, DATE night with Brandon and some great friends. Hooray for the weekend!

Geez I'm tired just reading that. Does he always have to work that much or is it a busy time?
