Blue and Gold
Tonight was the Blue and Gold banquet for the scouts in our ward. This years theme was "Chinese New Year." The dinner was all chinese food (for not so obvious reasons) and each boy was to bring a desert. My boys will not eat chinese food, (crazy, I know. Brandon and I keep telling them they are missing out on some great stuff!) so I had made them dinner at home. Eric had fun time trying all of great deserts that other familys brought. Brandon and Eric "made" a variety of chocolate cheesecakes (from Walmart). Here is a sampling (well, of what was left).
And here is someone who didn't get any cheesecake scraping the plate for crumbs. Sorry!
After the food they have skits and awards. Eric was awarded his Bobcat. This was fun for all of us. I guess this is a cub scout tradition.
I had to pin this on him upside down, or right side up when he is dangling like this. When either Brandon or I catch him doing a good deed we can turn it right side up. He kept turning it around all night though, stinker. He is always doing good deeds for his sister. So I guess that we are will leave it. He had a lot of fun.
Clean mouth
Last week our sweet little boy said a bad word. Where he heard it, we are not sure. He says that he heard from a guy outside smoking a cigarette. At least his excuse was creative. I don't doubt that he heard it from some child safe television show/movie. Not exactly sure how they rate tv/movies, but I am shocked at what the consider PG. I am sure that I am not alone with this thought, but we are getting into a completely different topic. Joshua's punishment: sit with a bar of soap in his mouth for 15 minutes. The kids was a trooper with it (I myself had this punishment as a kid and would not be so calm).

I tried to get a picture of the bar of soap with his teeth marks, but no such luck. He says that he had learned his lesson. Let's hope.

Bye bye mullet
Katie was sporting what was become an obvious mullet. This morning I found my courage to tackle the curls and cut it away. Success! No more mullet, but her hair seems so much shorter and it looks like it has more curls then before. I guess that I went on a hair cutting rampage, because I got the boys this weekend too.
Busy
Things have been busy lately. It seems like I cannot catch up with everything that I must do. Laundry is a big one. The house is never picked up, and not even close to clean. It feels like meeting the needs of the kids is consuming more time than usual too. Josh has lately become interested in crafts, but I am horribly unprepared for him and have very little fun stuff for him to do. His fall back is cutting paper into shapes. Eric is going though an anti-homwork phase and since I am not here in the evening this all falls on Brandon. I know that he tries, but Eric will simply neglect to inform him of his homework. So each morning before school we are dealing with Eric, his homework, and his awful attitide about it all. Katie is crawling into everything, the trash can, dog food, behind the toilet (yeww). And she is not the best teether I have ever had. Did I mention that all three of them are fighting a bit of a cold? Nothing that keeps them home, just enough to make them a tad bit cranky. This week I will spend my day off cooking for the blue and gold banquet. Do you know what I want to do on my day off? I want to go to Hobby Lobby and Kohl's. I want to finishing sewing the curtains for each of the boys rooms. I want to sleep. I want ME time! But, I have to work almost everyday. Well, I guess that I have whined enough. I know that this is the life of a Mom. I love it most of the time, but then there are times...
