There is always one...

Last week there was a rare day where everyone was home and we had nothing to do. So we took the kids to the mall for these fun jumps that they have set up there. They each got 15 minutes of play for just $3.00. Great deal, we were excited! They pretty much only have one rule, you CANNOT go down head first. You must always be feet first. One child understood and had a blast!

This one did not understand and was kick off after the first time he went down! I thought that I was going to die. The employee had just told him that he need to go down feet first, he runs up to the top and comes down on his stomach, head first. So he was forced to sit on this bench while his brother had a blast.
And he sat there while sister enjoyed her treat, a pretzel that she so nicely shared with Daddy.

Despite that, it wa a fun way to spend an afternoon together.

Coming Soon!

I was talking with my wonderful sister-in-law this morning and she pointed out that I have been a slacker in my updates on my blog recently. This is a very true fact. I have been quite busy and have a lot to post, but, I have been quite busy. The result of my "bee" like activity is a clean house, clean beds, and my laundry is caught up. Healthy and happy kids, a good sized paycheck from my other home, which I might add is also quite clean, and I made a blanket for a friend who just had the cutest baby boy. I also fit in over the last week a trip to Hobby Lobby (so so so FUN for me!), 1st year pictures of my princess, a trip to the temple and dinner with my husband! Wow! I am impressed, aren't you?

Photo updates are coming soon!

Fabulous Family Fun!

Tonight we went to CLIFFS Amusement Park with Brandon's work.. They provided dinner and admission to the park. THANK YOU !!!!

We had SOOO much fun! The boys rode everything that they could and loved it. One ride scared them, but as we walked by it later they wanted to go back.

We hit kiddie-land so that we could find something that Katie could go on. They were really awesome about letting her on. She had a great time if the tantrum that she pitched at the end was any indicator. I personally thought that she was so brave because some of the rides went fast and others went into the air, but nothing. She was happy!

The tilt-a-whirl... MY favorite ride.

I am not a big fan of the roller coaster thing, so I was happy to keep Katie while Brandon took the boys on those rides. It is a good thing that he likes them, the boys don't need to see Mom freak out because she is more scared then they are!

Katie liked the merry-go-round.

I think that we took about 80 pictures tonight! It was so fun to capture on film this fun night with the kids. We are already talking about the next time that we will get to go to CLIFF'S!

~ don't forget to check out the video's of us at cliff's on the next post~

Happy 4th of July!

For the 4th of July holiday we went to Brandon's brother's house to be with their family, his parents and and some friends from church. We had a BIG barbecue, which was good because there were A LOT of people. After some seriously yummy food, the wives became RISK widows.
Even Eric and the oldest Dunno boy participated in the game. I, for one, do not understand the attraction of the game. While the husbands played, the kids went for a ride on the slip-n-slide. Even Katie decided that it looked fun and went in. Sadly I was unable to get a good picture of her in it.

Here are Eric and Josh outside just as we were starting the fireworks. Don't they look cute! All buddy buddy. In a raffle at work Brandon won some fireworks. We had been unclear as to what we had in there until last night. WOW! They were seriously the best fireworks that we had ever had! Thank you Comcast! No pictures though, I spent the time enjoying the show. Poor Katie, she missed the fun because she wasn't feeling to good and so I had put her to sleep.
I had gotten the kids cute little 4th outfits, but I never got them together to take a picture. So here is Katie in her outfit. I had her wear it last Sunday to church.

Katie's 1st birthday party

We had a very fun party for Katie on Saturday night. Brandon's family, my Mom, and some family friends came to help us celebrate. We had a big barbecue and then the fun stuff began.

I made her cake. I always make an attempt on the kids 1st birthday cake. I wanted to decorate it differently but it was so hot that day that the frosting was to runny to create the look I wanted. But I think it came out okay.

We had found a first birthday crown for her. She wouldn't leave it on long enough to get a good picture.

Katie loved her cake! It was so fun to watch her get into it!
So many presents for a little girl! She got some really fun toys and some cute clothes. But like most babies, the wrapping offered just as much entertainment as the gifts did!

We had a lot of fun. Katie did pretty good, she didn't seem to overwhelmed with all the attention. She was pretty cute playing with all the kids that were here. And since a couple of days have gone by she has learned a little about the new toys and loves to play with them all.

One year

Today is Katie's 1st birthday. I simply cannot believe it. Where has the last year gone? My baby is fast becoming a toddler. I am so excited to see her as she grows up, but sad that I will not have the experience of the 1st year again with her.

She has learned so much over the last year. She walks now (when it doesn't slow her down), eats "people" food, babbles to communicate her needs, and plays with her big bothers. She is such a busy little thing, constantly on the move. Katie defiantly has likes and dislikes and she will let you know! She screams when her brothers are eating something that she things she should have, like a popsicle, or a sucker. These are her favorite treats. She is quick to smile, but slow to laugh. And so her laughs are valued like gold and the person that can get them from her is usually the hero of the house for the moment. She is so sweet, and such a monster... a very spoiled little girl. We would have it no other way!

You have changed so much. Just look at how big you are now. You were the most beautiful baby, you had so much hair! When they brought you to me after your bath, your hair had been done. The nurses had fun fixing it. And now you are the most beautiful little girl. Curly dark hair, BIG eyes. So sweet. Katie you really are a princess to your family. We are so thankful that we were blessed to have you in our family. You bring us so much joy everyday.

So to you little Katie... a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I love you.

Summer Haircuts

Tonight I finally gave the boys their buzz cuts. This is really not the most attractive look for them, but they are happy with the low maintenance haircut and I am happy that I will not be cutting hair again until about the time that school starts.
